Major Radhika Sain, an Indian woman peacekeeper who served with the UN mission in Congo, will be honored with the prestige year's 2023 United Nations Military Gender Advocate of the Year Award. She served as the commander of United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Engagement Platon. Major Sain is the second Indian peacekeeper to receive this prestigious award after Major Suman Gawani. Major Suman Gawani, who had served with the UN mission in South Sudan, was honored with this award in 2019.
